Jackpot Rockets to $735 Million for March 12th Drawing

The consequence of Friday’s no-win situation is a significant jackpot increase for the upcoming Tuesday drawing. The estimated jackpot has ballooned to a staggering $735 million, making it the sixth-largest prize offered in Mega Millions history. Only a handful of jackpots have surpassed the $1 billion mark.

This massive prize is sure to spark a surge in ticket sales as people dream of the life-changing possibilities a win could bring.

Previous Drawing Sees Winners at Lower Tiers

While there was no grand prize winner on Friday, the drawing did produce some lucky individuals who matched fewer numbers, securing them smaller prizes. A total of 1,171,297 tickets won at various non-jackpot levels, proving that while the big one might have eluded everyone, many players walked away with some winnings.

Two tickets, one from Georgia and another from Texas, matched all five white balls, earning them the game’s second-tier prize of $1 million each. Additionally, 22 tickets across the country matched four white balls plus the Mega Ball, winning the third-tier prize. Two of these tickets were particularly fortunate as they included the optional Megaplier (available for purchase in most states for an extra $1), which was 3X on Friday night, boosting their winnings to $30,000 each. The remaining 20 third-tier winning tickets received the standard prize of $10,000.
